​Combining efforts of the grain marketing and farm input businesses enabled our cooperative system to more completely serve members. 
Milestones

1962 - Merger with Farm Bureau Service Company of Iowa brought a new structure, territory, and name: FS Services, Inc.

1963 - Iowa City Feed Mill was constructed.

1965 - Merger with Wisconsin Farmco Service Cooperative added the state of Wisconsin to the company map.

Merger with Producers Seed Company put FS Services in the hybrid seed corn business and in the field seed and seed grain business in a more comprehensive way.

FS Services purchased a 50 percent interest in First Nitrogen Cooperative with a new anhydrous ammonia plant on the Gulf Coast. Central Farmers Fertilizer Company became the distributor of the plant output.

1967 - Soybean and seed grain processing plant was built at Cisco, Ill.

1968 - Columbus, Wis. Feed Mill was constructed.

1969 - Combination of efforts was established with Illinois Grain Corporation. This involved an investment of capital by FS Services, shared governance, and participation in the management of the organization. 1970 - Alpha, Ill. Feed Mill began production

1976 - IG trademark was adopted for Illinois Grain Corporation.
