1941 - Gasoline storage was increased at both the Kingston Mines and Shawneetown fuel terminals.
Construction was started on a diesel powered towboat named the "Blue Seal," the towboat "Wabash" was purchased, and two new barges were acquired.
1944 - Illinois Farm Supply joined with other cooperatives to establish the Farm Bureau Milling Company at Hammond, Ind. The Badenoch Mill in Chicago was also leased.
Illinois Farm Supply and several other cooperatives set up Cooperative Plant Foods, Inc. with a plant at Hartsdale, Ind. near Chicago, to manufacture mixed fertilizers. The use of mixed fertilizers was a growing practice by farmers.
1945 - An abandoned feed mill at Benton, ill. was purchased and equipped for production.
