FS Cooperatives Earn Performance Improvement Award
Five FS member cooperatives were recognized by GROWMARK,
Inc. for business performance improvement during the
GROWMARK annual meeting in Chicago.
While introducing the award winners, Dennis Farmer,
GROWMARK vice president of member services, said,
“Controlling results in an environment where you have no
control over the factors that impact your results would
sound like a fool’s errand. No industry identifies more
readily with this than agriculture, challenged by everything
from Mother Nature, to politics, to global market forces.
Yet, members of the GROWMARK System continue to achieve
outstanding success through the careful management of assets
and the dedication of their employees.”
GROWMARK measures the improvement in the performance of
member cooperatives based on return on invested capital.
Over a five-year time frame, each cooperative's return on
invested capital improvement is measured in comparison to
other cooperatives in the System. From this measurement, the
Performance Improvement Award was developed.
