In the U.S., GROWMARK has deep roots with the Farm Bureau organization. In fact, when local
co-ops made up of Farm Bureau members needed a reliable supply of
petroleum products back in the 1920s, they formed the regional
cooperative that is now GROWMARK. Today, GROWMARK remains
affiliated with the Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin Farm Bureaus.
Each of those state Farm Bureaus holds a seat on the GROWMARK
Board of Directors. In addition, only Farm Bureau members receive
patronage refunds from FS Member Cooperatives. GROWMARK and Farm
Bureau personnel work very closely together in governmental
affairs activities, youth and young leader development, general
agricultural education, training program offerings, and much more.
