• The transportation departments in the U.S. and Ontario coordinate and arrange for the delivery of more than 125,000 truckloads of products each year to local cooperatives. About 350 loads are delivered each day, with more than 1,300 loads daily during peak season periods.
• Truck deliveries are made by a combination of dedicated contract carriers and common carrier operations. These carriers, when combined, travel more than 13 million miles each year.
• The GROWMARK System receives 6,500 rail shipments and more than 400 barge shipments each year. The Logistics Division directly manages a percentage of these shipments to ensure the System receives the best combination of service and cost.
• GROWMARK has an ISO 9001:2008 compliant distribution center in Alpha, Ill., with five acres (240,000 square feet) under one roof, housing more than 7,000 different items. Annual sales of products going through the warehouse exceed $150 million.
• GROWMARK distribution operations include a facility in Kitchener, Ont. It is an 87,000 square foot facility which is also ISO 9001:2008 compliant, signifying quality control from receipt of product to its final delivery.
